Drowning in to-dos? There's a better way.
Master the juggle with these smart apps
We get it: Between working, caregiving and managing your own family's needs, life can feel like one impossible uphill climb. But there's help available.
A growing number of mobile health apps and tools are available to help you manage the added responsibilities, both for yourself and your loved ones. Apps can help plan healthy menus, streamline tasks, check your loved one’s vital signs or connect you with online support communities. Four worth checking out:
CookSmarts While not free, This meal-planning app takes into account your loved one’s dietary needs and preferences as it builds daily and weekly menus. Once set up, it creates both a grocery list and recipe steps for a week’s worth of simple healthy dinners.
CareZone Helps with managing medications/reminders, scheduling appointments, tracking and sharing updates with family members. Also serves as a go-to spot for to-do lists, archiving important documents and even features a health care news feed.
eCare21 This app puts a smart watch to work, tracking your care receiver’s vitals like glucose, heart rate, activity and sleep. You, your loved one, doctors and other family members can access the info online, which can also connect with existing Electronic Health Records.
Caregiver Buddy Developed specifically for those caring for loved ones with Alzheimers, this free app offers tips, advice and connections to resources nationwide as well as a 24/7 link to the Alzheimer’s Association Helpline.
